This backyard had a pool, a brick wall, and almost no shade. We built a stained cedar patio cover that wraps the corner of the home and ties into the existing roofline, with cedar posts on stone veneer bases, matching shingles, recessed lighting, and two ceiling fans overhead. Along the back wall, we added an L‑shaped outdoor kitchen in stacked stone with granite counters, a built‑in grill, refrigerator, and storage, plus a raised bar that looks out over the pool and a mounted TV for game day. The result: one covered, connected space for cooking, sitting, and swimming all summer long.
